Discover what blood is, its role in the body and what the different blood types are. Learn about the range and importance of different blood products. Carry out tests and select a compatible blood type for a person requiring a transfusion, using your understanding about the genetics of blood. Go on a simulated tour of a blood donor centre, hearing from people who donate blood on a regular basis and from those who receive it. Explore the history and some of the myths and misconceptions relating to the donating of blood.
